BigWorksheets — Educational Resource Usage Guidelines
At BigWorksheets, we create and provide printable educational resources to support teaching and learning in classrooms, homes, and homeschool environments.
This License & Usage Policy explains how our educational materials may be used, printed, shared, and distributed.
Please review these terms before purchasing, downloading, or using our resources.
1. General License
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, educational resources purchased directly from BigWorksheets are licensed for use by one individual purchaser.
A purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the resource for permitted educational purposes.
Purchasing a resource does not transfer copyright ownership or intellectual property rights to the buyer.
All rights not expressly granted remain reserved by the applicable rights holder.
2. Permitted Uses
Under a standard individual license, you may:
- Download and save the purchased resource for your own educational use.
- Print multiple copies for students you personally teach.
- Use the resource for classroom instruction, homework, independent practice, review, and enrichment activities.
- Use the resource for personal or family homeschool instruction.
- Display resource pages during lessons or educational presentations to your own students.
- Assign permitted activities to your own students through a secure, access-restricted learning platform.
These permissions apply only within the scope of the individual license and any additional terms specified for the resource.
3. Classroom Use
Teachers may print and distribute copies to students they personally teach.
This includes use across multiple classes or groups taught by the same licensed teacher.
However, a single-user license does not permit sharing the original digital file with other teachers, departments, schools, or organizations.
Each additional teacher who wishes to use the resource independently must obtain an appropriate license.
4. Homeschool and Family Use
Parents and homeschool families may use purchased resources with children in their own household.
You may print additional copies as needed for permitted household educational activities.
Sharing the original digital files with other households, homeschool groups, or co-op instructors is not permitted under a standard individual license unless additional permission has been granted.
5. Digital Classroom Use
You may upload purchased resources to a secure, access-restricted learning management system for use by students you personally teach.
Examples may include:
- Google Classroom
- Canvas
- Schoology
- Other password-protected classroom platforms
Access must be restricted to your own students and authorized classroom participants.
You may not upload resources to publicly accessible websites, shared public folders, or platforms where individuals outside your permitted learning group can freely access or download the files.
6. Prohibited Uses
Unless you have received prior written permission from the applicable rights holder, you may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or give away the original digital files.
- Share purchased PDF files with other teachers or unrelated third parties.
- Upload resources to public websites, file-sharing services, or open-access repositories.
- Include the resources in products, bundles, or collections offered for sale or free distribution.
- Remove copyright notices or other ownership information.
- Claim the resources or their content as your own original work.
- Reproduce, adapt, or republish the materials for commercial distribution.
- Use the resources to create competing products for sale or redistribution.
7. Modifications and Adaptations
Resources are generally provided as printable PDF files.
You may make ordinary printing adjustments, such as resizing pages or changing printer settings.
Editing, altering, translating, or adapting resource content for redistribution or publication is not permitted without prior written authorization.
If you need a modified version for a specific educational purpose, please contact us to discuss your request.
8. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Educational resources available through BigWorksheets may contain copyrighted text, illustrations, activities, layouts, and other original content.
Copyright and related intellectual property rights remain with their respective owners.
A resource license grants permission to use the material only within the terms described in this policy or the applicable product-specific license.
9. Purchases Through Third-Party Marketplaces
Some educational resources listed on BigWorksheets may be purchased through third-party marketplaces, including Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT).
When purchasing through an external marketplace, the license terms, purchasing conditions, and applicable policies of that marketplace govern the transaction and resource usage.
This BigWorksheets policy does not replace or override those applicable marketplace terms.
10. Additional Licenses and Permissions
If you need to use a resource beyond the standard individual license, please contact us before distributing or sharing the material.
Examples include:
- School-wide or department-wide use
- Multiple-teacher licenses
- Homeschool co-op distribution
- Organization-wide educational programs
- Other uses requiring broader distribution rights
Additional permissions may be granted separately in writing.
11. License Violations
Use of a resource outside the permitted license scope may constitute a violation of these terms or applicable intellectual property laws.
Where permitted by law, BigWorksheets or the applicable rights holder may revoke usage permission or take appropriate action to protect the material.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this License & Usage Policy to reflect changes in our products, services, or applicable requirements.
Updated terms will be published on this page.
Changes will not retroactively remove rights already granted under a completed purchase unless permitted by the applicable license and law.
